March 24, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Pumas Premier as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Paducah, KY, Pumas Premier will begin UPSL play in the Mid-South Conference. The club will host its home games at Reidland Middle School Soccer Field (5347 Benton Road, Paducah, KY 42003).

UPSL Mid-South Division Manager Doug Kranz said, "We are excited to welcome Pumas Premier to the UPSL. This team has an important history in the state of Kentucky and it's the largest club in the region. We believe that their vision and mission statement align with ours, and we have a shared goal of giving players the opportunity to reach their fullest potential."

Pumas Futbol Club was founded in 2010 by Gerardo Herrera. Pumas Premier will serve as the highest competitive tier within the organization's structure.

"Joining the UPSL will bring an array of opportunities to our club players," Herrera said. "We want to give an opportunity to local talent, high school standouts, and former college players to play in the highest competitive environment available.

Herrera serves as the club's Director of Coaching. A member of the Kentucky Olympic Development Program coaching staff from 2011-'18, Herrera has led Pumas Futbol Club to multiple Kentucky State Cup titles and numerous Regional Cup and National Cup appearances. 

Pumas Futbol Club now features 18 teams, more than 200 players 15 professional coaching staff members.

Game are schedule to begin March 26. Pumas Premier will announce its fixture calendar.

Pumas Premier is an American Soccer club currently based in Paducah, KY, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Pumas Premier will begin play in the UPSL's Expedition Division.

Founded in 2010, Pumas Premier can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
