March 9, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce FC Midland as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.
Based in Midland, MI, FC Midland will begin UPSL play in the Midwest Conference East Division. The club will host its home games at Northwood University (4000 Whiting Dr Midland, MI 48640).
Steve Walker and Stevie Shard are co-Owners of FC Midland.
UPSL Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "We are excited to welcome FC Midland to the Midwest Conference. The club has strong ownership and a way forward for its players. That's a great combination for any Pro Development club, and we think FC Midland will be a very competitive group in UPSL Michigan. We look forward to seeing the club on the pitch this season."
Shard is Men's Soccer Head Coach at Northwood University (NCAA). Walker serves as Assistant Coach. Both played professionally and now have more than 40 years of combined coaching experience.
"We feel the UPSL is the natural progression for soccer in the Great Lakes Bay region. The UPSL provides a fantastic opportunity for players in our area to compete at the highest level during the summer season. We are very excited to get started and felt that 2021 was the perfect time to begin this venture," Walker said.

FC Midland is an American Soccer club currently based in Midland, Michigan, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. FC Midland will begin play in the UPSL's East Division.
Founded in 2020, FC Midland can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
