March 9, 2021 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Ginga Atlanta's Alberto Ciroi has been voted UPSL Goalkeeper Of The Season.

Ciroi led final vote-getters with 47-percent of the vote in a 5-day Twitter poll that ran from Monday, March 1 to Friday, March 5, 2021

Ginga Atlanta Head Coach Joao Garcia said, "Alberto's influence on our team cannot be measured this season. He's not a pro - not yet - but the way he plays is very professional. Our team would not have been the same without his presence in the back and we're really grateful that he was able to play with us this season."

Ciroi, 24, helped lead Ginga Atlanta (21-0-0 record) to the UPSL Georgia Division regular season and post-season titles, the UPSL Southeast Region title and the UPSL 2020 Fall Season National Championship. He posted shutouts in seven of the team's last 11 games - including the National Final where he made the game-winning save in the shootout.

"I think it's the logical result of our hard work (and) the logical consequence of our work ethic and everything we've done to get to this point. It's something that we really believed in and we made it happen," Ciroi said. "We were all playing for something that is more than winning a football game, we were playing to create a legacy, to make history, to break records; and every single day in practice we would practice with that belief and bring that belief to game day.

"It's been an unbelievable season. It's something that very few in their soccer career will acheive. Posting a 21-0-0 record is something that you don't see very often but it just proves what type of group we are and the work we put in everyday," Ciroi said. "Personally, I'm super happy but winning this award, for me, is recognition for the team as well. I truly believe that behind personal awards there is teamwork and without the people that support me, my coaches, my teammates, my family, my friends, and everyone responsible for this great season this award would not be possible. I am very grateful to be recognized for something that others helped me acheive."

Born in Udine, Italy, Ciroi is the only three-time winner of the UPSL Player of the Week award in the league's 10-year history.
