UPSL Announces North Carolina Expansion with Queen City FC-Charlotte

Charlotte, NC-Based Clubs Joins Mid-Atlantic Division for Spring Season

February 17, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Queen City Futbol Club-Charlotte as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Charlotte, NC, QCFC-Charlotte will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division. The club will host its home games at Northside Christian Academy Stadium Complex (333 Jeremiah Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28262).


Robbie Rogers is President and CEO of Queen City FC. A native of West Africa, Rogers holds a BS in Business Management and Leadership from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, and previously coached Rutgers University-Newark (NCAA) in New Jersey.

Clarence Massalay is Vice President & Recruiting Coordinator for QCFC-Charlotte, which will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

UPSL Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "We are very excited to welcome Queen City FC Charlotte to the Mid-Atlantic Division. Robbie has put together a strong group that wants to compete at the national level, and he sees the UPSL growing in the region and wants to be a part of it. He has a vision for the future of his club and it's a vote of confidence for the UPSL in North Carolina that a strong executive like Robbie is now a member."

Archie Archer is Associate Head Coach of Queen City FC-Charlotte. Jacob Nielsen is Assistant Coach and Performance Director. Patrick Valadez is Assistant Coach & Media Director.

"Our goal to join the UPSL in Spring 2020 was met with many challenges but we believe soccer can be used as a tool to unite our communities," said Rogers, who also serves as Head Coach. "We aim to provide a professional, safe and positive soccer environment for our players."

The club will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Queen City FC-Charlotte is an American Soccer club currently based in Charlotte, NC, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. QCFC-Charlotte will play in the UPSL's Mid-Atlantic North Division.

Founded in 2019, QCFC-Charlotte can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
