October 8, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to welcome West Palm Beach Academy CF as a new member.
Based in West Palm Beach, FL, WPB Academy CF began UPSL play with the 2020 Fall Season as part of the Florida Treasure Coast Division. The club hosts its UPSL home games at Monsignor Pace High School (15600 NW 32nd Ave., Miami Gardens, FL 33054).
UPSL Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "We're pleased to have West Palm Beach Academy joining the Treasure Coast Division. Competition has never been more fierce than it is this season in Florida and there's a lot to like about West Palm Beach Academy, from the top down. We wish them succes as they begin their first UPSL campaign."
Martin Londono is Owner and President of West Palm Beach Academy CF. Adrian Paz currently serves as Head Coach.
"WPB Academy has always felt that we have more to offer than just playing in the local Sunday leagues. We want to take our team to the next level. There is a lot of talent in this area and we want to show the UPSL that we are ready for better competition," Londono said. "2020 has been a strange year but we feel like now is the time to enter our team into this league because it is getting bigger every year and we want to show that we belong."
WPB Academy CF (0-1-0 overall) opened its UPSL 2020 Fall Season with a 2-2 draw versus Palm Beach Stars Academy on Saturday, Sept. 26. The club plays Palm Beach Breakers at 4 p.m. ET at Dyer Park (7301 Haverhill Rd, West Palm Beach, FL 33412) on Sunday, Oct. 11.
