October 2, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to welcome Azteca FC as a new member.

Based in Denver, CO, Azteca FC began UPSL play with the 2020 Fall Season as part of the Colorado Division. The club hosts its UPSL home games at Bollman Tech (9342 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229).

UPSL Colorado Division Manager David Ramirez said, "We're excited to have Azteca FC join the UPSL's Colorado Division. This is a club that puts a lot of attention on its team and its players. They've been participating in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup for years now, and they're always traveling to other states to play in tournaments. Azteca FC sets a very high standard and is a big reason why the UPSL is back as strong as it is in Colorado."

Andy De La Rosa is Owner and President of Azteca FC. Luis Lubin is General Manager. Alan Hampson is Club Treasurer. Luis Baez serves as Head Coach. Daniel Gutierrez is Assistant Coach.

"In the beginning we were just a workplace team from Azteca Corporation playing in different leagues at recreational level. As time went on we got better but like anything else we wanted more (and) so around 2012 we joined forces with another good team to make one very good team. We called ourselves Azteca-Mojos and started playing in the Colorado Premier League," De La Rosa said. "In 2014 we became Azteca FC. We're still playing in the CPL, and we've never won that league but we make the playoffs every year and we've even played in a few finals along the way. Now, we're excited to join the UPSL."

Azteca FC (2-0-0 overall) opened its UPSL 2020 Fall Season with a 2-0 victory over Toros FC on Saturday, Sept. 12, and followed that up with a 5-2 victory over Club Union Jerez on Friday, Sept. 18.
