September 21, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce International Jacksonville Football Club as its newest member.

Based in Jacksonville, FL, Inter Jax FC has started UPSL play in the 2020 Fall Season as part of the Florida Central Division. The club hosts its UPSL home games at Julington Creek Plantation Park (3060 Race Track Road, St. Johns, FL 32259).

UPSL Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "We are excited to welcome Inter Jax FC to the UPSL's Florida Division. The number of strong clubs in the Florida Central Division is really impressive this season. We want to continue to advance the UPSL's regional promotion/relegation structure, and adding solid clubs like Inter Jax FC is the key ingredient to the foundation. We wish everyone at Inter Jax FC the best of luck as they prepare to begin their UPSL season."

International Jacksonville FC is owned by Vladimir Zecbobek, Ramak Safi and Mario Maric.

Zecbobek serves as President of International Jacksonville FC. A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Zecbobek has lived in Florida for more than 40 years and developed an extensive local background as a player and coach. He currently owns several businesses, including the largest adult flag football league in the United States with more than 500 players and 90 teams.

"We really like the UPSL because of the short distances to play games. This is a huge help for small clubs that are supported locally and don't have access to large amounts of capital," Zecbobek said. "We think that the UPSL's regional promotion/relegation structure is another reason why the league is very attractive. We believe that the UPSL is the only league that provides a platform for every community to play soccer and enjoy the beautiful game."

Safi is Head Coach of Inter Jax FC. A native of Jacksonville, Safi graduated from Englewood High School before playing at Jacksonville University (NCAA) and for Jacksonville Armada (NASL). He currently holds USSF 'C' and UEFA 'B' coaching licenses.

Maric is the club's Sporting Director. Maric concurrently serves as Director of the NorthEast Florida Soccer League (NEFSL), the top men's amateur league in Jacksonville.

International Jacksonville FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Jacksonville, FL and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Inter Jax FC will play in the UPSL's Florida Central Division.

Inter Jax FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams nationwide. The UPSL is the largest Pro Development League in North America. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated.

UPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the league's affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
