SIDE FC 92 JOINS UPSL SPRING 2020!

WSA Pathway To Pro Program Upper Arm
Published Feb 5, 2020

Tulsa -  WSA Soccer Club met with another historic milestone this past winter offseason.  Side FC 92, the upper arm of the West Side Alliance Soccer Club, will begin play in the UPSL during the Spring 2020 season, as announced by the UPSL on January 10th.

The club will compete in the Central Conference, North Division this Spring.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "It's great to see Side FC 92 join the UPSL. This is a club that has spent years creating a dynamic and dominant club, and they're ready for the next level and the next challenge. It's a pleasure to have Roger Bush and his team out of Sand Springs in the UPSL. We look forward to seeing Side FC 92's talented squad on the field during the 2020 Spring Season."

The club's long time and historic Case Community Park, at RiverCity Parks, will be the team's home grounds for match play in 2020.   Team tryouts will be held March 7th.  The trial will be open to any interested player.  The club will have a fertile ground of homegrown players harvested from the storied and succesful WSA Men's program over the past few years.  In 2019 the club earned it's first national championship (WSA 00 Boys White), and has since 2005 signed over 30 players annually to collegiate scholarship playing opportunities.

The club's Pathway To Pro (P2P) program has been evolving at a dramatic pace the past 5 years.  This step marks the fruition of a vision and plan laid forth several years ago.  The men's semi-professional team will be tied and integrated to the club's evolving academy program at the youth level which currently registers over 1,500 youth players throughout the state of Oklahoma.

Side FC 92 President Roger Bush said, "West Side Alliance Soccer is excited to partner with the UPSL, the fastest-growing Pro Development League in the United States. The UPSL platform will bring an array of opportunities to club members. This step catalyzes a next step in the expansive and inclusive vision for 'The Side' by bringing to fruition the realization of an upper arm of the club. It is important for our organization to partner with the right people and align with organizations with shared values, and the UPSL provides both. This is truly an exciting step in club evolution at 'The Side', and an opportunity we embrace enthusiastically."

The club's front office will be led by Ryan Bush and Roger Bush, while WSA Soccer staff will immediatley fill positions in media relations, adminstration, ticket sales, and operations.  The club's coaching staff positions will be announced shortly.

Look for more information coming soon on the team's inaugural season schedule and other club events to introduce Side FC 92 to its community of supporters.
